Zachary Hulbert

Zachary Hulbert had just turned 18 and was completing his senior year at Hanford High School. He played both football and baseball and was preparing to take the field as the varsity football team’s starting kicker. His coaches and teammates remembered him as positive, funny, inspiring, and someone who could make those around him feel welcome.

On March 22, 2021, Zachary and his older sister, Ryan (19), were murdered in their Hanford home by Ryan’s former boyfriend, Garrett Leyva. Zachary never had the opportunity to graduate alongside his friends and cousins or discover where his own dreams would take him.
