Ryan Hulbert

Ryan Hulbert was 19 years old and in her second semester at Cuesta College, where she was focusing on business studies. A 2020 graduate of Sierra Pacific High School, Ryan played softball and was one of the Golden Bears’ pitchers. Her family remembers her as loving, protective, and generous — someone who was always there for her teammates and friends and whose smile could light up a room.

On March 22, 2021, Ryan and her younger brother, Zachary (18), were murdered in their Hanford home by Ryan’s former boyfriend, Garrett Leyva. Ryan had an entire future ahead of her — college, a career, and a lifetime of possibilities that she was never given the chance to experience.
