Ten-year-old Anthony Avalos endured months of horrific abuse and torture at the hands of those entrusted with his care. Despite numerous reports to child welfare authorities documenting concerns for his safety, Anthony remained in the home where the abuse continued. On June 20, 2018, Anthony died from catastrophic injuries after suffering prolonged physical torture. Both offenders were convicted of torture murder and sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.
