Four consecutive life terms, including two life-without-parole terms

This victim's offender could become eligible for release under the proposed regulations.

On February 9, 2014, Ashton Sachs, then 19, returned from Seattle to his family's home in San Juan Capistrano and shot his parents, Bradford “Brad” Sachs, 57, and Andra Sachs, 54, as they slept. He also shot his 8-year-old brother Landon, who survived but was paralyzed, and fired at his teenage sister, who was not struck.

Sachs later pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. In 2016, he was sentenced to four consecutive life terms, including two life-without-parole terms, plus additional time for firearm enhancements.
